Trailer hitch plans for my Kia

Not totally sure where this belongs so feel free to move it if it fits better somewhere else.
I drive a 2021 Kia Seltos EX and plan to tow a small trailer with it. I'd like to know if the rear frame already has the holes or if I'll have to pull the bumper.
Has anyone added a hitch without removing sensors or heat shields?

Yep, the 2021 Seltos EX does have pre-drilled holes in the frame for hitch mounting, but I think you need to remove the underbody panel and lower the exhaust to get it installed properly.

Hey thanks for this! Do you know if removing the underbody panel and lowering the exhaust is something I can do myself with basic tools or should I plan on taking it to a shop?

Did you get a receiver yet? I installed a Curt on our '24 EX. Piece of cake even for my tired disabled butt.

Thanks for sharing how your hitch install went on your EX. Good to hear it was pretty straightforward! I haven't ordered a receiver yet because I wasn't sure if I could do it myself but your post makes me feel more confident. When you put on the Curt hitch, did you have to do either of those steps?

Sorry, I wasn't clearer in my last post.

I was referring to the steps shared by @mas-amedda56. They said installation required removing the underbody panel and lowering the exhaust system for access. Did the Curt hitch you installed on your '24 EX require either of these steps?

Glad to hear the job was straightforward. Other than a basic socket set, did you need any special tools for the install? I plan to order the parts soon and hope to complete the project by October.

I'll be sure to keep the thread open and provide an update on how it all goes.

You only need to remove the small inside filler panel on the right-hand side near the tailpipe. It's held on with a panel clip below and a nut above.
The Muffler need only be lowered on that same side. Make sure it's supported before you remove the rubber hangar(s).
I raised the receiver into place using a floor jack. If you don't have one you will want a helper. It's tricky to fish all three wires on each side and not lose the bolts, but if I can do it myself then anyone with basic mechanical skills can.
Get all the bolts and nuts installed and almost hand tight. Let the receiver rest on them so it's level and then tighten the forward nuts first so it doesn't tilt.

Thanks for the follow up! I've got the tools lined up and should be able to start this weekend. If nothing unexpected arises, I aim to complete the task in 2 days.
