First big road trip in the seltos

Just got back from a 5 day road trip with my Kia Seltos 2023 SX AWD, and I've gotta say, it handled so well, we packed it to the roof with camping gear, a cooler, two folding chairs, and somehow still had room to breathe, we drove through a mix of winding back roads, some light off pavement stuff getting to the campsite, and long highway stretches and we averaged about 31 MPG even with a loaded roof bag, not bad at all, only minor issue was the wireless charging pad kept overheating my phone when we used maps for too long.

Wow, that trip sounds amazing! Getting 31 MPG even with the car packed is pretty good, and it's great it could handle any kind of road you threw at it. That wireless charger thing seems to happen a lot, might be better to just plug your phone in when you're using GPS for a long time

We were shocked to see the MPGs we were getting with the Seltos. Much better than our 99 Honda CR-V and 2007 Mazda CX-9, and on par or even a little better than the 2011 Mazda 2 the Seltos replaced. Such a driveable vehicle, too.
We are constantly amazed when we get out and are reminded how compact it is yet roomy inside without feeling empty.

When using AA/CP all the radios are on and the phone is much more active, so it's already generating more heat. Use wireless charging when it's not connected to the car, and when it is use the cable to charge it. It's a nice place to store the phone, but probably too enclosed for long term wireless charging.
