I've been driving my 1.6T with the 7 speed DCT for a little over a year now, and I've had time to monitor how this transmission behaves compared to what I expected when I first bought the car, I'm coming from a traditional torque converter automatic, so no surprise I was intrigued by the idea of a dual clutch, we know the perks but then driving daily well.... I've had some mixed experiences. It does really well on steady kind of driving but in lower speed scenarios like parking or traffic that moves slowly, theres this kind of hesitation and jerking feeling, I dont know if its something a little tuning can fix or its more of a mechanical limitation
I've read that some owners in other markets like India and Australia received ECU/TCU updates that supposedly smoothed out the low speed behavior, has anyone here heard about something like that here or had a check with a dealer about something like that?
I don't regret going with the turbo/dct combo, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sometimes second guessing whether the NA 2.0L with the IVT might have been the more relaxed choice for my daily commuting
